Our Approach to Acupuncture
We Take A Holistic Approach to Treatment
Consistent with the tradition of Chinese Medicine, we take a holistic approach to treating patients. This means that we treat the whole person in a comprehensive, integrated way. Whereas Western Medicine tends to look at a collection of symptoms to be treated in isolation, Chinese Medicine (of which Acupuncture is an essential component) sees wellness as the result of balance among interconnected systems.
Our approach is always comprehensive. The initial visit allows us to understand the way the systems of each specific patient are working, and use that information to address people’s individual needs. Although each treatment is systemic, there are also unique points that are used to address the patients specific requests. Some patients come with one thing in mind to address through acupuncture, but many have several issues. In the latter case, we ask that you choose your top 1 or 2 , in order of priority, so that we can be sure we are focusing on the main reason for your visit.
